Saturday, March 9th 2019 was Karma Sauce’s Open House right here in our company’s backyard in Rochester, NY. I went solo, which being an introvert, is no easy task. Would I have anyone to talk to? Am I going to stay just for 10 minutes and leave? Luckily, I’m a member of an absolutely fantastic group of fellow hot sauce lovers on Facebook named For The Love of Hot Sauce and was able to meet two other die-hard hot sauce fans in David and Jon.
We spent two and a half hours sampling Karma Sauce’s great selection. I had not had their Taco Rosso or Taco Verde sauce prior to the event and I need to get those two into my store ASAP! They also have a fantastic lineup of ketchups, mustards, salsa and rubs. I could’ve taken the whole selection back with me but had to hold back. Their chipotle mustard found its way into my cupboard. Soon enough, it will find a way into my inventory!
Karma Sauce started full production in 2010 and utilizes only locally grown peppers from the Karma Sauce farm. You won’t find any added fat or sugar in these products, Karma Sauce is only loaded with flavor. All of Karma Sauce’s award winning products are gluten-free, soy-free, dairy-free, wheat-free and preservative-free.
It was a pleasure to meet founder Gene Olczak in person as I’ve only reached out to him regarding wholesale orders in the past via e-mail. His staff running the tastings and purchasing were super friendly and knowledgable. It goes to show that good, honest, hard-working people can build incredible companies that give back to the community. This model is how I’ve built Flower City Flavor Company thus far.
